THE EFFECTIVENESS OF MISOPROSTOL COMPARES TO OXYTOCIN IN MANAGEMENT OF RETAINED PLACENTA: AN EVIDENCE-BASED CASE REPORT

ABSTRACT
 Introduction: Retained placenta is one of major cause for postpartum haemorrhage. Various medication and routes administration have been reported to increase spontaneous delivery prevent manual removal placenta. Purpose the study compare outcome between misoprostol oxytocin in management retained placenta.
 
 Method: literature searching was done 4 databases (Pubmed, EbscoHost, Cochrane Scopus) with specific keywords, continued article selection critical appraisal. Result: 5 randomized controlled trial articles were found match eligibility criteria. 3 studies that placental occurred more group than group. Based on 2 studies, NNT value are other no significant differences had shorter time delivery. However, also longer 1 Misoprostol less blood loss group.
 Conclusion: has better induce delivery, needed volume compared oxytocin.
